1. "the eternal duration of matter" is of course not a new subject, see for example 6May38 and 8Aug39. John Corrill, in his "History of the Mormons" notes the belief that matter is eternal. See the May 6, 1833 revelation (LDS D&C 93) "the elements are eternal."
