Temple to be Built in Nauvoo

The president then spoke of the necessity of building a "House of the Lord" in this place. ¹

Notes

1. The necessity of a temple follows the pattern set at previous headquarters. By December, quarrying for building stone was well underway with tithing labor instituted. This action would be reinforced by revelation the following January (D&C 124).
